Fall Fashion
If I could design one of my favorite fall looks this would be it. The perfect blend of corduroy, tweed, leather, gold, and jean topped off with a pop of orange and an animal print. Doesn't get better than this for me!

Talbots isn't just for my mom anymore...
I went into Talbots recently, one of my mother's longtime favorite clothing stores, to get her a drape cardigan because she always compliments me on my sweaters like this and I thought she deserved one too! ....and I was shocked by how "hip" Talbots has become! Since when have I walked into a Talbots and liked half the store for myself? Never before! I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. So much so that I not only bought the drape cardigan for my mom but also a few things for myself (whoops)!
And apparently I'm not the only one to take notice of their transformation. I went to their site and found these:
PRG and I are heading to dinner at Bacco in the North End to help our friend MF "carbo load" before the 100 mile bike race she's doing tomorrow. Mmmmm looking at their website is making me hungry. Then, tomorrow, we're off to a wedding down in Madison, CT. Can't wait to help celebrate with SM and BG!
Happy weekend everyone!

- A video about Talbots' Tradition Transformation and
- Talbots Chief Creative Officer Michael Smaldone talking about Talbots' Ageless Woman Philosophy

Unique Belt Buckles
My friend CH was sporting the lobster claw and thought it was one of the coolest belt buckles I'd seen in a while. I haven't bought one of these yet but I have my eye on the quahog buckle. Apparently, JCREW was selling a version of the lobster claw buckle but it is currently sold out. The buckles below can be bought here.

New Baby Gift Ideas
This past weekend I was in Chicago visiting my best friend CGP who just had a baby boy. It was so much fun to finally meet her new son in person and get to spend some quality time with them! Here are two of the gifts I've given CGP for her new baby that I want to share in hopes they might come in handy for you down the road. Both of these ideas are from Etsy which has definitely become one of my favorite places to shop online!
Custom Birth Announcement Wall Art from mosieposies:
Monthly Baby Onesie Stickers from babycakesdesignco:
Just apply these monthly stickers to a plain onesie and take monthly photos to watch your baby grow and track the changes. This would be a great baby shower gift for a mom-to-be!

All you have to do is message mosieposies with the colors you want used, the new baby's name, and the baby's birth weight/length/time/location and they send you a proof for review, it's so easy! |

The stickers don't need to be ironed on - you just stick them onto the onesie and then peel them off . |

It's the Month of Invitation Shopping Parties!
I have recently been invited to two different shopping parties - a CAbi party at my sister-in-law AG's house and a Stella & Dot party at my friend MF's house. Both of these are the types of parties where you go to someone's house for cocktails, appetizers and shopping, and they sell things you can't find in stores.
Here are the two items I purchased at the CAbi show I went to:
The Stella & Dot party is coming up in a couple of weeks. Here are some of the pieces that I have my eye on. Now I just have to patiently wait for the party date to arrive.....

I bought this top in a bigger size so I can wear it as a beach cover-up. I loved the flower detailing. |

I'm picturing wearing this top with white pants in the summer or with jeans in the spring. And maybe I'll add a brown or gold belt to give it shape. |

Loved this!
I went over to my brother-in-law (JG) and sister-in-law's (AG) house for dinner last night and I had to take a pic of AG's outfit because I loved the color combination she chose! I thought you would like to check it out as well -- don't you just love the turquoise and fushia worn together?
